| What to Expect |
|
Following your enquiry I will make an appointment to visit you at your home, or another convenient place if you prefer, where we can discuss your requirements. This would include the type of photographs you want, how long you need me for, any special or important people you want me to photograph, poses or group shots you definitely want (or don't want!) and many other things. This is also your opportunity to see examples of albums and prints, to see first hand the quality you can expect. From here, I would record details of the venue(s) and visit them to make sure I know the layout, and scout suitable locations for photos. I would also introduce myself to the vicar/priest if the wedding is at a church and the owners of the reception venue, just to make sure everyone knows who I am and that I know my way to the locations! On the day I arrive in plenty of time to shoot the bridal preparations, then might move on to the groom's house to grab a few shots and let him know I'm around. I shoot the bride and the car before shooting off to the ceremony venue to prepare for the grand arrival, and grab more shots of a nervous groom. Venues have different rules on what can and can't be photographed during the ceremony, but I'll know this already, having checked in my previous meeting - which means I can concentrate on getting the best shots possible. I also make sure that when I'm not photographing you and your guests I'm getting those all-important details - you know, the cake, table settings, decorations, flowers and all those things you spent a fortune on and will want to remember as much as everything else. After the ceremony there are a few group shots, confetti shots and maybe one or two of the newlyweds depending on timings, then it's off to the reception venue for the rest of the day. Here we'll finish any group shots and I'll steal you away from the crowds to make those extra special images you want. After these we'll move on to the wedding breakfast and speeches, which I'll also photograph, as well as the cake cutting, after which I'll leave you alone while you dine. Once the wedding breakfast is complete and you're all relaxing and ready for the evening entertainment, I'll be taking candid shots of guests enjoying themselves and praparing for the first dance. This is officially the end of my day, but I often stay a little longer, making sure I capture the fun of the evening. All the action is over, and you're off on your honeymoon. During this time I'll edit the photographs, preparing them for display in your preview album, which will then be ordered from my printers. Once this is delivered I'll contact you to arrange a viewing and personally deliver your album and go through the photographs with you. From these images you choose your prints (you don't have to choose immediately - take as long as you want!), and I will give these a full work-up before ordering. Again, I will personally deliver these to you. If you've ordered an album, I take special care with the design and layout, and I visit you and display a slideshow of the pages so you can make any changes before I order it. Once you've approved the layout I place the order with my lab, who take about a week to make the album, after which I bring it round for the big viewing. This will be a big occasion and some couples choose to have parents around, while others wish to keep the moment to themselves and show families later. |
Every wedding is unique, a special occasion for all involved, and I like to make sure my part of it lives up to the occasion; from your first enquiry to the final delivery of your photographs you can be sure of my personal attention.
